Total Immersion launches D’Fusion for Unity

Total Immersion announced it will be launching a beta version of D’Fusion for Unity at GDC 2012, enabling game developers working with Unity Technologies’ award-winning game tool access to its patented best-in-class AR technology.

D’Fusion for Unity will be available for iOS and Windows, affording developers the opportunity to deploy immersive AR gameplay experiences on their platform of choice.

Total Immersion will also show off D’Fusion’s gameplay capabilities at Intel’s GDC 2012 booth (#1024) with a demo of an AR Formula 1 game that pushes the CPU of the Intel Ultrabook platform to its full capacity with a rich, immersive scenario leveraging D’Fusion’s computer vision capacities with the simultaneous tracking of the player’s face and a printed wheel for the most realistic F1 race experience ever simulated in AR. Game developers will also be able to attend a 15-minute software demo of the D’Fusion SDK every day from March 7-9.

“D’Fusion for Unity will enable serious game developers to take advantage of the most advanced and sophisticated AR features on the market to create exciting, new immersive gameplay experiences,” said Bruno Uzzan, Co-Founder and CEO of Total Immersion. “We are thrilled to be working with Unity Technologies to unlock the potential of AR in gaming.”

“By delivering AR experiences to Ultrabooks, Total Immersion further extends the innovative capabilities of these ultra-sleek, ultra-responsive mobile devices,” said Jean-Pierre Navarro, Global Account Manager at Intel.

D’Fusion will also be demoed on the Intel Ultrabook platform at Intel’s booth at CeBit in Hanover, Germany. During Christian Morales’ keynote (General Manager of Intel Europe), Karen Regis (Director of Ultrabook Marketing Strategy) will be featuring on stage live AR experiences powered by Total Immersion.

Game developers will be able to download D’Fusion for Unity in beta at http://www.t-immersion.com/products/dfusion-unity on March 6, along with a proof-of-concept AR game developed with D’Fusion for Unity by one of Total Immersion’s partners, Inside Solutions.
