The race amongst mobile AR development continues.
Less than a month since RIM announced the inclusion of the Wikitude’s AR Browser in the up and coming BlackBerry Bold, RIM today introduced the BlackBerry Java SDK v7.0 beta, featuring some pretty impressive tools that will enable developers to deploy AR apps onto the BlackBerry.
The magnetometer APIs will enable developers to create better navigation, AR and gaming apps that require orientation of the device to be changed. The Native Window API allows OpenGl ES and Java UI to be overlaid onto a camera or video view finder, which is critical for AR applications.
